ISO Art Gallery will host the painting exhibition entitled "Par-ça-lar" (Fragments) by Ümit Erzurumlu between May 16 and June 2. The exhibition will be curated by S. Yalçın Denizyılmaz and the opening cocktail will be held on May 16 at 18.00 in ISO Art Gallery.
He describes his artistic process as follows: "My style has taken a futurist form in recent years. This has not only enriched my subjects but has opened a freer space." His paintings are still among certain private collections across Türkiye and currently continues working in his workshop in Maltepe.
His artistic vision in his own words:
"If Music and Mathematics are siblings and Wind and noise are relatives, we are then related to everything. In each of my paintings, I roam around the branches of the family tree of all existence and question the relationship between those branches.
It's as if the thoughts in my head are playing tag with words. Creating a still life, flower or nature painting is not a pause in the process but another way to express the unseen. I accompany the rhythm of the music when I draw instrument players; I hear the heartbeats when I draw fighters. And when I draw a landscape, I am able to listen to the scream of roofs against the roaring wind."
